Abstract

ABSTRACT
The purpose of this research is to analyze and find out about what factors
influence accounting students in choosing a career as a Public Accountant.
Factors that influence career selection to become a Public Accountant are
measured by variable financial / salary rewards, professional recognition, social
values, personality, labor market considerations, work environment, and intrinsic
value of work. Primary data in this study was obtained by conducting research on
accounting students of Malang Islamic University, with a total sample of 71
students. The analytical tool used in this study is multiple regression analysis. The
results of the study show that financial / salary reward factors, professional
recognition, social values, personality, labor market considerations, work
environment and intrinsic value of work simultaneously have a significant effect
on accounting students in choosing a career as a public accountant. Partially
variable financial / salary rewards and intrinsic value of work have a significant
effect on accounting students in choosing a career as a public accountant.
Whereas professional recognition, social values, personality, labor market
considerations, and work environment have no significant effect on accounting
students in choosing a career as a public accountant.
