HUBUNGAN GAYA BELAJAR FLEMING DAN GAYA BELAJAR GRASHA-RIECHMANN TERHADAP PERFORMA AKADEMIK MAHASISWA PROGRAM STUDI KEDOKTERAN FAKULTAS KEDOKTERAN UNIVERSITAS ISLAM MALANG

Abstract


Introduction: Interest in the medical field continues to increase, causing Indonesia to have 83 medical faculties at present. However, only 22% are accredited A and 45% are still accredited C, so that shows the quality of medical students is not optimal. Quite a lot of medical students find it difficult to adjust to a very tight lecture schedule. With the right learning style, it will be more effective for students ins the learning process. Fleming learning styles and Grasha learning styles can be factors that influence student academic performance.

Method: This study had 189 respondents using total sampling techniques in the students of PSK FK UNISMA for the classes of 2016, 2017 and 2018. This research was an analytic descriptive study using a cross-sectional approach. To measure learning styles, the Grasha Riechmann Student Learning Style Survey (GRLSS) and VAK Questionnaire were used, while the semester achievement index (IP) score was obtained from PSK FK UNISMA. Bivariate analysis using Chi-Square Test.

Results:The results showed a generally significant relationship between Grasha learning styles and student academic performance of p = 0.01 with a dominant collaborative learning style of 41.5%. While Fleming learning style in general is not significant, but in the year of 2017 showed significant results with p = 0.021 dominant visual learning style as much as 51.7%.

Conclusion: There is a positive relationship between the collaborative learning styles of 65 students. Learning styles in each class have different dominance.
