PERBANDINGAN EFEK PERASAN LIDAH BUAYA (Aloe vera L.) DENGAN POVIDONE IODINE 10% TERHADAP KADAR TRANSFORMING GROWTH FACTOR-BETA (TGF-β) SERUM DAN JUMLAH SEL FIBROBLAS JARINGAN KULIT LUKA SAYAT PADA PUNGGUNG TIKUS WISTAR JANTAN
Abstract
Introduction: TGF-β can induced migration of fibroblast and produced colagen to contraction so wounds incision will be repaired.Povidone iodine 10% has potential as an antiseptic but inhibit proliferation of fibroblast. Aloe vera L.has containtswhich can increase the number of fibroblast and activate TGF-β. However, its effects and dosage are unknown. For that, it needs to be researched.
Method: This research used male wistar rats was given wound of 2 cm long and a depth of 0,2 cmwhich were divided KP group (Povidoneiodine 10%) and treatment group in Aloe vera juice (concentration 20%, 40%and 80%)with a dose of 0.5 g / rat / day given topically for 6 days. Serum TGF-β levels were observed using ELISA technique. Data were analyzedusing One Way ANOVA (p <0.05). Number of tissue were observed through aHematoxylin-eosinpreparations by counting 5 visual fields in each preparation. Data analysis using Mann-Whitney wherep <0.05 is considered significant.
Results:Juice of Aloe veraconsentration of 20%, 40%, and 80%significantlyincreased the number of fibroblast tissuerespectively 1,4 times, 1,7 times, and 3,2 times compared to povidone iodine 10%. At serum TGF-β levels, concentration of 80% significanly increased by 1,3 times, concentrations of 20% and 40% did not significantly increase by 1 timesand 1,1 timescompared to povidone iodine 10%.
Conclusion: Aloe vera juice (Aloe vera L.)increasesthe number of skin tissue fibroblasts compared to povidone iodine 10% and increases serum TGF-β levels on consentration 80%.
