HUBUNGAN KADAR DAN HITUNG JENIS LEUKOSITPADA ANGKA MORTALITAS NEONATUS DAN BAYI AKIBAT SEPSIS DI KABUPATEN MALANG
Abstract
Introduction: Sepsis is one of the main cause of morbidity and mortality in neonates and infants with mortality rate around 50-70% in Indonesia.A diagnosis of sepsis can be examined through bacteria found in blood cultures and a complete blood laboratory examination. Predictions of death due to sepsis in neonates and infants with complete blood parameters have not been much doing in research.
Method: This was descriptive analytic research with cross sectional design using medical records of neonatal and infant patients with sepsis diagnosis in Malang Regency from January 2017 to December 2018. The data consist of complete blood count laboratory parameters such as leukocytes, eosinophils, basophils, neutrophils, lymphocytes and monocytes. This study was analyzed using Chi-square with significant results if p <0.05.
Result: Sepsis patients are more commonly found in male patients and mortality rates are higher for neonates. A significant correlation found between leukocyte level in neonates and neutrophil level in infants and mortality rates.
Conclusion: There is a significant correlation between leukocyte variable in neonates and neutrophils variable in infants with mortality rates.
