Abstract

Introduction : Peptic ulcer is a condition in which continuity of the gastrointestinal mucosa is severed and extends below the epithelium. The most common cause of peptic ulcer is the side effects of NSAID use for a long time. Flavonoids contained in the water extract of soursop leaves (Annona muricata Linn.) Have an anti-inflammatory effect. This study aims to prove the effect of soursop leaves (Annona muricata Linn.) Extract on the reduction of Interleukin-1β (IL-1β) levels of gastric tissue induced by indomethacin.

Method : Experimental laboratory research method in vivo, using a research design control group post test only design using female wistar rats aged 10-12 weeks. Peptic ulcer induction using Indomethacin 30 mg / kgBB. The sample divided into five groups. IL-1β levels of gastric tissue were analyzed using Rat IL-1β ELISA kit. Data analysis using one way ANOVA and post hoc LSD with p≤0.05.

Result : The results of the analysis showed that IL-1β levels of KN gastric tissue differed significantly with KP, KP 2 and KP 3. KP was not significantly different from KP 1, KP 2, and KP 3. KP 3 was significantly higher than KP 1 and KP 2.

Conclusion : Soursop leaf water extract did not reduce IL-1β levels of mouse gaster tissue induced by indomethacin. The higher the dose, the higher the IL-1β level.
