EFEK EKSTRAK AIR KOMBINASI DAUN JATI BELANDA, KEMUNING, MURBEI, DAN RIMPANG BANGLE TERHADAP KETEBALAN DAN LUAS AREA KOLAGEN PADA AORTA TIKUS MODEL ATEROSKLEROSIS
Abstract
Introduction: Hyperlipidemia is a risk factor of atherosclerosis. Jati belanda (Guazuma ulmifolia), kemuning (Murraya paniculata (Linn) jack), murbei (Morus alba) leaves and bangle (Zingiber cassumunar) rhizome (JKMB) have a potential to decrease hyperlipidemia and atherosclerosis. This study aim to prove the effect of the water extract of JKMB on the thickness and area of collagen in rats receiving atherosclerosis diet.
Methodology: This study us an experimental laboratory in vivo with control grup post test only design using 25 wistar male rats, 8 weeks of age, weight 150-200 g. The rats were divided into five groups (each 5) namely ; KN, KP, KD1, KD2, KD3. Four groups (KP, KD1, KD2, KD3) treated with modified atherogenic diet (DTLM). The groups of KD1, KD2, and KD3 also recived the water extract of JKMB at doses of 189 mg/200 g, 378 mg/200 g, 378 mg/200 g respectively for 12 weeks every days orally. Aortic thickness and area of collagen were observed by light miscroscope with magnificence of 200x and 400x respectively, and were measured by Image J.
Result: The water extract of JKMB unsignificanly reduce the aortic thickness and area of collagen compared with KP group.
Conclusion: The water extract of JKMB have no effect in aortic thickness and area of collagens.
