Efek Kombinasi Sambiloto, Salam, Kayu Manis , dan Temulawak Terhadap Ureum, Kreatinin Serum, dan Histologi Ginjal Tikus Model Hiperglikemia
Abstract
Introduction: Diabetes mellitus (DM) is the metabolic disorder with a hyperglycemic condition which can cause functionally and structurally disorders of the kidney. Hyperglycemia condition can be prevented by herbs administration. Sambiloto (Andrographis paniculata), Salam (Syzygium polyanthum), Kayu Manis (Cinnamomum verum), and Temulawak (Curcuma xanthorrhiza) is the herbs that have antioxidant dan antihyperglycemic effect. But, that combination effect on ureum, creatinine, and kidney histology in vivo on hyperglycemia rats model never studied yet.
Method: Laboratory experimental in vivo control group post test only design. Sample using male Wistar rats with 2-3 month old that separated in 5 group which are negative group and experimental group. High Fructose Diet (HFD) and streptozotocin (STZ) are used as DM induction. The combination extract of sambiloto, salam, kayu manis, and temulawak 125 mg / kgBB, 250 mg / kgBB, and 500 mg / kgBB was given for 30 days. Serum urea was measured using the enzymatic method and creatinine used the jaffe method. Data analysis used One Way ANOVA (p <0.05).
Result: Combination of Sambiloto, Salam, Kayu Manis, and Temulawak did not affect in serum ureum (p>0,05), serum creatinine (p>0,05), and kidney histology (area and sum of glomerulus) hyperglycemia rats model (p>0,05).
Conclusion: Combination of Sambiloto, Salam, Kayu Manis, and Temulawak infusion does not affect serum urea and creatinine levels and kidney histology of male hyperglycemia models of Wistar rats.
