Abstract

The aims of irrigation network planning is to determine the mainstay of irrigation water needs,
cropping planning patterns, as well as the discharge needed for agricultural areas. Indonesia itself is
an agrarian country so it is natural that the first priority in the national development agenda is
centered in agriculture. Based on that, the availability of agricultural diarrhea water is one of the
guarantees of food availability to increase national food production. So that the success of rice selfsufficiency
in
order
to
improve
food
security
cannot
be
separated
from
the
role
of
water.
Various

attempts

have been made to increase the yield of food production, including the opening of
agricultural land. In Balangan Regency, South Kalimantan Province, especially Awayan District,
has the potential of water resources and the potential of undeveloped agricultural land. Therefore, in
an effort to improve and meet the food storage needs of the Balangan Regency, the Balangan
Regency Water Works Public Works Department plans to carry out the planning work of the 4000
hectare pitap irrigation area to serve the technical irrigation plan area. This is done so that the
development of irrigation networks in locations can be optimally and sustainably well, so that it is
technically feasible, economically, and environmentally. In writing this final project, which is
planning the rebuilding of pitap irrigation networks in the awayan sub-district so that all sub-districts
can be irrigated properly. So that the final results obtained are the mainstay discharge with a
reliability of 80% that is 112.5 m3 / sec and the magnitude of the mainstay discharge with a reliability
of a percentage of 20% is 185.41 m3 / sec. And from the plan of calculating the alternative 2 cropping
patterns with the rice-palawija cropping pattern, the water requirement in the paddy field (NFR)
used is 13.3772 lt / sec / ha.
