STUDI OPTIMASI DISTRIBUSI AIR IRIGASI SALURAN RAMBA KABUPATEN SIGI PROVINSI SULAWESI TENGAH
Abstract
Water is a crucial factor in crop cultivation; therefore, the irrigation water requirements of plants must be met to achieve optimal crop production. To meet irrigation needs, appropriate water distribution techniques and efficient water utilization based on crop water requirements are essential. Agricultural land in the Ramba canal of the Gumbasa irrigation area follows a cropping pattern of Rice/Secondary Crops – Rice/Secondary Crops – Secondary Crops. This cropping pattern requires a large amount of water, while water availability in the Ramba canal is limited, resulting in a water deficit. By optimizing the cropping pattern according to available discharge, crop production can be increased. This optimization can be carried out using the Solver linear programming tool in Microsoft Excel. The results of the optimization show that Alternative Cropping Pattern I provides the highest profit while utilizing the limited available discharge. The resulting cropping pattern is Rice/Secondary Crops (176 ha) – Rice/Secondary Crops (176 ha) – Rice/Secondary Crops (149.65 ha). The total optimization achieved is 285% with an annual profit of IDR 7,784,215,000. Based on the optimization results from several cropping pattern alternatives analyzed, Alternative I was chosen as it yielded the highest return.
