STUDI ANALISIS SPASIAL DAERAH RAWAN BENCANA KEKERINGAN BERBASIS SISTEM INFORMASI GEOGRAFIS DI KECAMATAN GEDANGAN KABUPATEN MALANG

Abstract


ABSTRACT

Gedangan District in Malang Regency is prone to drought, impacting agriculture, clean water access, and environmental sustainability. This study utilizes Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to map drought-prone areas by analyzing parameters such as rainfall, soil type, land use, slope, and air humidity. The analysis uses scoring and overlay techniques with ArcGIS. Results show that 39,29 km² (23,86%) of the total 164,65 km² area is classified as highly vulnerable. Villages such as Tumpakrejo (5,58 km²), Sindurejo (13,89 km²), and Gajahrejo (9,86 km²) fall into this category. These areas are characterized by steep slopes, coarse-textured soils, low rainfall, and minimal vegetation cover. Mitigation strategies include water retention infrastructure, efficient irrigation systems, land rehabilitation, cropping pattern adjustments, and water conservation awareness.
