Abstract


Flooding due to inadequate drainage systems has become a recurring issue in Gading Kasri Village. This study aims to evaluate the performance of existing drainage channels and propose an effective flood mitigation strategy. Using ArcGIS 10.8 for spatial analysis, the research identifies 19 out of 41 drainage channels as incapable of handling the design flood discharge with a 10-year return peri$od, calculated at 314.07 mm of rainfall and 2.2651 m³/s of runoff. As a solution, the study proposes redesigning several drainage sections usi$ng box culvert structures to enhance channel capacity. This alternative is expected to accommodate stormwater more effectively and reduce the risk of surface flooding. Further research is suggested to explore complementary methods such as biopore infiltration, retention ponds, and rainwater harvesting systems to support sustainable urban drainage.
