Abstract


The rapid growth of human population across different sectors leads to inevitable waste generation from all human activities. Household waste requires particular attention as improper management can significantly impact environmental quality. Poor waste treatment practices result in various adverse environmental consequences (Jannah et al, 2020). Water contamination levels in major Indonesian cities, particularly Nganjuk, continue to rise. This pollution stems from human activities, including industrial facilities that discharge waste directly into water sources such as reservoirs, lakes, waterways, and oceans. Additionally, domestic sewage from residential areas flowing untreated into rivers or ground surfaces represents another major contributing factor (Rahmawati and Warsito - 2020). Consequently, there is urgent need developing a wastewater distribution network and community-based treatment system for the Griya Anjuk Fields Housing Development in Nganjuk Village, Nganjuk Regency. The proposed treatment approach utilizes ABR (Anaerobic Baffled Reactor) technology, selected for its cost-effective operation, superior treatment performance, and minimal land requirements. Water quality analysis conducted at the Griya Anjuk Field Housing Development reveals that current wastewater conditions fail to meet established quality benchmarks.
