Abstract


ABSTRACT

The Kusan Dam construction plan has one of the benefits, namely supplying irrigation water.. However, in the Kusan Dam construction plan, there is no intake structure to support irrigation supply to the downstream. Regulator Dam planning is needed to optimize the benefits of the Kusan Dam. This study aims to determine the dimensions of the Mangkalapi Dam by calculating the design flood discharge using the HSS Gama I method obtained from processing rainfall record using the Log Pearson III method, then adding it to the Kusan Dam outflow discharge by routing the two discharges and calculating the stability control of the Mangkalapi Dam. The document needed in this study are the topographic map of the Kusan River, the Kusan Dam outflow discharge document, rainfall record for 2013-2022, and soil characteristic. After the two discharges are routed and added together, the design discharge (Qd) used for the design of the main building of the Mangkalapi Dam is 421.93 m3/sec. From the results of the hydraulic analysis, the dam height is 3.00 m; The width of the dam is 48.00 m, the type of round crest with a radius of 1.20 m; for energy dampers or bucket-type stilling basins with a radius of 6.00. Based on the results of the dam stability analysis, the dam construction is safe against seepage, overturning force, shear and soil bearing capacity both in terms of normal conditions and earthquake conditions.
