PERAN KELUARGA DALAM PENDIDIKAN AKHLAK ANAK (Studi Kasus Anak-Anak Keluarga TKI Dusun Polaman Kecamatan Dampit Kabupaten Malang)
Abstract
The child’s development is primarily determined by their family. Parents and other family members at home must collaborate in educating the child. It should be noted that character education is a crucial part of education that must be delivered by the parents so that a child can possess a noble character. But in this era, many parents are occupied by work demands so that the obligation to educate children is transferred to other family members. The practice of transferring parental responsibility has been a common phenomenon in Polaman Hamlet, Dampit District, Malang Regency, where some parents chose to work as migrant workers. This study uses qualitative methods where researchers act as instrument and data collectors of observations. The data is taken from interviews, observations, and documentation. The research output is the implementation of the character education of migrant workers’ children using advisory, modeling, and habituation strategy. The migrant workers’ family role in delivering character education to the children becomes crucial because they are cared for, educated, and guided like their own child. If the child makes a mistake, the family members that act as a caregiver will undoubtedly reprimand and advise, so that the child can develop a noble character.
