PEMIKIRAN SUFISTIK IMAM AL-GHAZALI (Studi Analisis dalam Kitab Al-Munqidh min Adh-Dhalal)

Abstract

This paper aims to know better the figure of Al-Ghazali and knowing the socio-historical conditions of his time, thought Sufi Imam Al-Ghazali and how the influence of Sufi thought of Imam Al-Ghazali. By knowing the background of social life and thoughts, can lead us to understand the thoughts of Al-Ghazali. Have a lot of evidence that Al-Ghazali was very instrumental in formulating the concept of Sufism is based on the Qur'an and Hadith. Among them is the book Ihya 'Ulumuddin, Bidayatul Hidayah, Raudhatut Talibin, Minhajul Abidin, Al-Munqidh min Adh-Dhalal (which the author discussed), and many more. In the book of Al-Munqidh, Al-Ghazali expressed discomfort with the luxury of a world that has got to go through life as an ascetic Sufi with fakir and zuhud to the world. He felt his life filled with luxury of getting away with God's making up a battle within him between the desire to continue the honorable life that has been achieved or inner call that leads to a more perfect life through neglect towards things worldly. Al-Ghazali had realized that the theory is easier than practice, so that Al-Ghazali felt that Sufi life can not be easily understood without experiencing its own (dzauq)
