PENGARUH KEDISIPLINAN TERHADAP HASIL BELAJAR MAHASISWA DI PESANTREN KAMPUS AINUL YAQIN UNIVERSITAS ISLAM MALANG

Abstract


Discipline is one of the fundamental character values considered relevant in integrated education systems such as campus pesantren (Islamic boarding schools), where students are required to simultaneously carry out university academic obligations and pesantren coaching systems. This study aims to determine: (1) the level of student discipline at the Ainul Yaqin Campus Pesantren, Universitas Islam Malang; (2) student learning outcomes; and (3) the influence of discipline on student learning outcomes. A quantitative approach with ex post facto research design was employed. The research population comprised 219 students residing at the pesantren, with a sample of 135 respondents selected through simple random sampling using the Isaac and Michael formula at a 5% error rate. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire for the discipline variable and GPA (IPK) documentation for learning outcomes. Data analysis used Pearson Product Moment correlation and simple linear regression with SPSS 25.0. Results show that: (1) student discipline falls in the Good category with a mean score of 4.06, covering mental attitude (4.14), behavioral attitude (4.03), and rule comprehension (4.02); (2) learning outcomes are classified as Very High with a mean GPA of 3.83, with 77.0% of students achieving Cumlaude status and an overall quality rate of 95.83% (Excellent category); and (3) there is no significant influence of discipline on learning outcomes (r = 0.038; sig. = 0.662 > 0.05), with a contribution of only 0.1%, therefore H₀ is accepted and Hₐ is rejected. This condition is explained by the restriction of range phenomenon due to the highly homogeneous distribution of both variables. Future researchers are suggested to examine more dominant variables such as intrinsic motivation, religiosity, and self-efficacy.
