Abstract

This research is motivated by the decline in religious character among adolescents due to the influence of globalization, digital transformation, and social environment. Alma'arif Islamic High School Singosari has implemented various religious programs such as reciting the Asmaul Husana, praying dhuha, and praying dhuhur in congregation, but there are still students who are not disciplined in participating in religious activities at school. This study aims to describe the strategies of Islamic Religious Education teachers in fostering the religious character of students at Alma'arif Islamic High School Singosari. The research uses a qualitative approach with a case study type. Data collection techniques were carried out through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation involving Islamic Religious Education teachers, the principal, the vice principal, homeroom teachers, and students as research informants. The results show that the strategies of Islamic Religious Education teachers in fostering students' religious character are carried out through habituation of religious activities, teacher role models, personal mentoring, and collective supervision of student worship activities. Supporting factors for these strategies include structured religious programs, support from the principal, a religious school environment, cooperation between school parties, and adequate worship facilities. Inhibiting factors include a lack of awareness and discipline among some students, differences in family background, the influence of their social environment, and limited time for religious activities. This strategy has a positive impact on developing worship habits, increasing student discipline and responsibility, and fostering religious awareness in daily school life.
