PERAN GURU PAI DALAM MEMBENTUK KARAKTER RELIGIUS PESERTA DIDIK DI SMK NEGERI 4 MALANG

Abstract

One of the important goals in Islamic education is to form the religious character of students, especially amid the challenges of the digital era that affect the religious values of the younger generation. The strategic role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers is to teach, guide, and be role models in instilling the values of monotheism, worship, and noble character. This study aims to determine the planning, implementation, and results of the role of PAI teachers in shaping the religious character of students at SMK Negeri 4 Malang. This research was conducted using a qualitative approach and case study type with observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation as data collection techniques. PAI teachers, Vice Principal for Curriculum, and guidance counselors were research informants. The Miles and Huberman model was used for data analysis. This study found that PAI teachers plan programs collaboratively, implement various religious activities including Friday Religious activities, girls' programs, dhuha prayer habits, social service, and 3S culture (greet, smile, greetings), resulting in ingrained worship practices, increased self-confidence and public speaking skills, strengthened responsibility and collaboration abilities, and implementation of noble character in daily interactions.
