EFEKTIVITAS METODE MURAJA’AH DALAM MENGHAFAL AL-QUR’AN UNTUK HASIL BELAJAR SISWA MATA PELAJARAN MUATAN LOKAL TAHFIZD QUR’AN KELAS X MADRASAH ALIYAH MU’ALLIMAT MALANG
Abstract
This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the Muraja’ah method in improving students’ memorization of the Qur’an and its impact on their learning outcomes in the local content subject of Tahfidz Qur’an. The Muraja’ah method refers to a systematic repetition of memorized verses intended to strengthen retention and fluency. Memorization of the Qur’an is considered a fundamental learning outcome in Islamic education, requiring focus, consistency, and effective instructional strategies. This research employed a quantitative experimental design with control and experimental groups. The population consisted of grade X students at MA Mu’allimat Malang, with a total sample of 60 students selected through purposive sampling, divided into class X MIPA 1 (control, 30 students) and class X BAHASA 1 (experiment, 30 students). Data were collected using post-tests measuring fluency in Qur’an memorization and analyzed with SPSS version 26 through normality, homogeneity, independent sample t-test, and effect size (Cohen’s d) calculations. The findings revealed that students in the experimental group taught using the Muraja’ah method achieved a higher mean score (87.03) compared to the control group (75.9). Furthermore, the independent sample t-test indicated a significant difference (p < 0.05), while the effect size value of 1.75 showed a very high level of effectiveness. These results highlight the importance of applying the Muraja’ah method as an effective instructional strategy in Qur’an memorization, suggesting that teachers of Tahfidz Qur’an should integrate systematic repetition, consistent evaluation, and supportive learning environments to foster stronger memorization skills and improved learning outcomes among students.
