Abstract

Why is learning discipline important for student achievement in Islamic religious education? This study discusses the relationship between learning discipline and Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning achievement of students at SMP Islam Al Maarif 01 Singosari Malang. This study takes a position as an empirical contribution in the scope of Islamic education, especially on the aspects of learning attitudes and academic achievement in PAI subjects that have cognitive, affective, and spiritual elements. The research method uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive design and simple linear regression techniques, with a sample of 82 students selected through simple random sampling from a total of 475 students. The main instrument is a learning discipline questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability using SPSS. The results of the study show a significant influence between learning discipline and PAI learning achievement, indicated by a significance value of 0.017 < 0.05. The coefficient of determination of 0.070 indicates that learning discipline contributes 7% to learning achievement, while the rest is influenced by other factors. These findings emphasize the importance of strengthening discipline in efforts to improve student academic quality in an Islamic value-based educational environment.
