Strategi Guru Pendidikan Agama Islam dalam Membentuk Akhlakul Karimah di MTs Wahid Hasyim 01 Dau Malang
Abstract
This study explores the strategies implemented by Islamic Religious Education (IRE) teachers in cultivating akhlakul karimah (noble character) among students at MTs Wahid Hasyim 01 Dau Malang. The research responds to concerns about moral degradation in students, such as disrespect toward teachers, academic dishonesty, and lack of discipline. Utilizing a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation from the school principal, IRE teachers, counseling teachers, and students. The findings reveal that teachers integrate moral values into lesson planning, employ exemplary conduct, instill habitual practices such as tadarus and shalat dhuha, and implement collaborative school-wide programs. These efforts are supported by a religious school culture and extracurricular activities that reinforce moral education. The results indicate significant improvements in student politeness, honesty, responsibility, and cooperation, though challenges such as bullying and rule violations remain. The study suggests enhancing parental involvement, reinforcing disciplinary culture, and providing regular teacher training in value-based teaching.
