PENGEMBANGAN KARAKTER RELIGIUS DALAM MEMBENTUK KESADARAN BERAGAMA SISWA SEKOLAH MENENGAH KEJURUAN
Abstract
This study aims to analyze the religious character of students and identify the process of developing religious character in forming religious awareness among students at SMKN 2 Blitar. Religious character education has become an urgent need in facing the moral degradation of the young generation in accordance with national education goals. The research used a qualitative approach with a case study type. Data collection was conducted through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Research subjects consisted of students and teachers at SMKN 2 Blitar. Data analysis used Miles and Huberman techniques with triangulation validity testing. The results showed that students' religious character was manifested in three dimensions: devout worship character through routine congregational prayer and reading prayers, active involvement in religious activities, and social character in the form of mutual helping attitudes and tolerance. The development process was carried out through teacher modeling, religious activity habituation strategies, and Islamic spiritual extracurricular programs. The combination of teacher modeling and habituation of religious activities proved effective in developing religious character and forming religious awareness among vocational school students.
