PROGRAM PEMBIASAAN SHALAT DZUHUR BERJAMA’AH DALAM MEMBENTUK KARAKTER RELIGIUS SISWA DI SMPN 9 MALANG
Abstract
Education plays a key role in shaping students' religious character. At SMPN 9 Malang, this is realized through the Dzuhur congregational prayer program, which is routinely carried out. The program aims not only to fulfill religious obligations but also to build discipline, responsibility, and social awareness among students. This qualitative case study involved observations, interviews, and documentation with the principal, Islamic Education teachers, and students. The results show that the program is running regularly and has a positive impact. However, challenges remain, such as low student awareness, perception of prayer as a burden, and minimal religious upbringing at home. Despite this, the program contributes significantly to students' character development. Greater involvement from teachers and parents is needed to strengthen its effectiveness and ensure the values are sustained beyond school. This research can serve as a reference for other schools seeking to implement similar programs.
