PENGARUH KEPEDULIAN ORANG TUA TERHADAP PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER SISWA SDN PETUNGASRI I PANDAAN KABUPATEN PASURUAN
Abstract
Education ideally includes the development of all students' potential comprehensively including character education. Character education includes emotional and spiritual intelligence. Character education is an important aspect that must be the task of schools, because schools have a strategic role in shaping students' personalities. However, character education is not the sole responsibility of schools, but rather a shared responsibility, including parents, society, and government. Parents are the closest figures to children, and the relationship between parents and children has an important role in influencing the child's development process, one of which is in the aspect of character education. Parental concern is one of the main factors that shape children's character and morals. The results of this study indicate that 1) After distributing the questionnaire to students at SDN Petungasri I and analysing the data using several tests. One of these tests was the t-test. The results of the hypothesis testing using IBM SPSS version 26 showed a significant value of 0.00 < 0.05, and the calculated t-value was greater than the table t-value (4.467 > 1.676), meaning that H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is an influence of parental concern on students' character education. 2) From the results of observations and questionnaire distribution, it was found that students with highly concerned parents tend to exhibit more positive attitudes. 3) The results of the hypothesis test, one of which was a simple regression test using IBM SPSS version 26, showed that the R-square was 112, which can be concluded that the influence of parental concern on students' character education is 29.4%. Thus, 70.6% is influenced by factors other than parental concern.
