This study investigates the multifaceted role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in shaping the religious attitudes of 6th-grade students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah NU (MINU) Roudlotut Tholibin, Malang. It explores the comprehensive roles PAI teachers undertake, the specific efforts they implement, and the internal and external factors influencing their effectiveness. Employing a qualitative case study approach, data was collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and student questionnaires. Findings reveal PAI teachers act as instructors, educators (murabbi), role models (uswah hasanah), guides (mursyid), motivators, and initiators of religious activities, with a strong emphasis on uswah hasanah aligning with the madrasah's Ahlussunnah wal Jama'ah an-Nahdliyah (ASWAJA) vision of moderation and tolerance. Key efforts include consistent habituation programs, organic integration of values, and empathetic personal guidance. While robust internal support from leadership and quality teaching staff are significant enablers, the pervasive influence of digital gadgets and insufficient parental control pose the most significant external challenges. The study underscores the critical need for synergistic efforts between madrasah and families to foster consistent religious character in the digital age.
