INTERNALISASI NILAI-NILAI MODERASI BERAGAMA DALAM PEMBELAJARAN PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM DI SMP NEGERI 1 KARANGPLOSO MALANG
Abstract
This study investigates how the values of religious moderation are internalized in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at SMP Negeri 1 Karangploso, focusing on four core indicators: national commitment, tolerance, non-violence, and accommodation of local culture. Positioned within the framework of character education and national policy on religious moderation, this research seeks to explore the values conveyed, the methods of internalization, and the challenges faced in the process. Employing a qualitative intrinsic case study design, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings reveal that the internalization of religious moderation is carried out through instructional teaching, habituation, and teacher modeling. These values are integrated into both classroom activities and school culture. However, challenges persist, such as limited student understanding, external influences that contradict moderation values, and the lack of teacher training. The research also highlights the School-Friendly Child Program (Sekolah Ramah Anak) as a strategic institutional effort in preventing violence and supporting the internalization of non-violence and tolerance. This study contributes to the growing discourse on religious moderation in educational institutions by offering contextual insights into practical integration within PAI learning at the junior high school level.
