STRATEGI GURU PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM DALAM MENANAMKAN NILAI- NILAI TASAMUH PADA SISWA DI SEKOLAH MENENGAH ATAS AN-NUR BULULAWANG MALANG
Abstract
This study explores the strategies employed by Islamic Education teachers at SMA An-Nur Bululawang, Malang, in internalizing the value of "tasamuh" (tolerance) among students in a multicultural Islamic boarding school setting. The students come from diverse cultural, linguistic, social, and religious backgrounds, including international origins such as Thailand and Malaysia, making the cultivation of tolerance essential. Positioned as a case study using a qualitative approach, the research focuses on planning, implementation, and outcomes of strategies applied by PAI teachers. Data were collected through field observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation of both academic and non-formal school activities. The findings reveal that PAI teachers integrated tolerance values into lesson plans (RPP), employed contextual and participatory teaching methods, modeled tolerant behavior, and reinforced it through daily routines and religious activities such as congregational prayers and regular study sessions. Collaboration with homeroom teachers and the pesantren administration also played a vital role in shaping students’ character. The study concludes that these strategies effectively fostered respectful attitudes, positive cross-cultural interactions, and a collective awareness of the importance of tolerance, contributing to the students’ readiness to face increasingly complex social dynamics..
