Abstract

This research aims to examine the role of madrasas in shaping the religious character of students at MA Al Hidayah Mojokerto. Madrasas as Islamic educational institutions play an important role in shaping the religious character of students. This research uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews and document analysis. The research results show that madrasas have a significant role in shaping the religious character of students at MA Al Hidayah Mojokerto through the Islamic education curriculum, religious activities and moral development. The implication of this research is the important role of madrasas in supporting the formation of the religious character of students as the next generation of the nation who have noble and responsible morals. This research contributes to further understanding of how madrasas can be important agents in shaping the religious character of students. These findings show that a religious madrasa environment, a curriculum based on Islamic values, and the role of educators who support and encourage religious practices are the main factors in forming the religious character of students. Thus, this research not only provides insight into the role of madrasas in the formation of religious character, but also provides a basis for the development of better educational programs in other madrasas. It is hoped that the results of this research can make a positive contribution to the development of Islamic education in Indonesia, especially in terms of forming the religious character of students who are strong and have noble morals.
