Religious character is an appreciation of the religious teachings one adheres to which is inherent in the individual which gives rise to traits and behavior in daily life both in terms of attitudes and actions. One of the educational institutes is SMP Ngeri 9 Malang which is located on Jalan Prof. Moh Yamin Gg. 06, No 26, Sukoraharjo, Klojen Malang City, East Java. The school has implemented character formation through a culture of self-development Fridays. From the research background above, the researcher formulated the problem, namely 1) what is the school culture in shaping the religious character of students at SMP Negeri 9 Malang, 2) how is the implementation of school culture in shaping the religious character of students at SMP Negeri 9 Malang, and 3) what is the impact of the success of school culture in forming religious character. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study method. The research subjects consisted of all female students at SMP Negeri 9 Malang. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis was carried out using a process of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. To ensure the validity of the data, researchers used triangulation techniques. The results of this research conclude that: 1) school culture has four activities, Friday imtaq, Friday healthy, Friday clean, Friday eating together, and all these activities are called Friday self-development, 2) teachers carry out planning, implementation and evaluation 3) the impact of successful implementation of school culture in forming religious character has a good impact on students.
