PERAN GURU PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM DALAM MEMBENTUK SIKAP MODERAT PADA PESERTA DIDIK DI SMP WAHID HASYIM MALANG JAWA TIMUR
Abstract
This study addresses the growing concern of declining religious tolerance and increasing interfaith conflicts as observed in various media and communities. The research aims to analyze (1) the planning process by Islamic Education (PAI) teachers in fostering moderate attitudes among students at SMP Wahid Hasyim Malang, (2) the implementation of moderate values in the educational practices, and (3) the outcomes of these efforts in shaping students' attitudes. Utilizing a qualitative approach with descriptive methods, data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis involved data condensation, presentation, and conclusion drawing, with triangulation used to ensure data validity. The findings indicate that PAI teachers have meticulously planned the incorporation of moderate religious principles into their curricula, considering students' backgrounds and previous teaching experiences. The implementation of these values, including tawasut (moderation), tawazun (balance), and tasamuh (tolerance), occurs through structured classroom activities and extracurricular practices. The results show a positive shift in students' behavior, as evidenced by their understanding and application of moderate values in daily interactions, positive feedback from both students and parents, and the overall success of PAI teachers in cultivating a moderate character among students.
