PENGARUH PEMBERIAN REWARD TERHADAP MOTIVASI BELAJAR SISWA PADA MATA PELAJARAN PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM DI SMPN 13 MALANG

Abstract

This study aims to explore the effect of rewarding students on learning motivation in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning at SMPN 13 Malang. This research method uses a quantitative approach with a type of correlational research, involving 172 grade VIII students out of a total population of 303 students at SMPN 13 Malang. Data were collected through questionnaires and documentation, and analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques, prerequisite tests, and correlation tests. The results of the study show that the provision of rewards has a significant positive impact on student learning motivation. The level of influence between reward and learning motivation is included in the strong category with a positive form of influence. The average score of the variables of reward and learning motivation shows that the rewards given by teachers, such as praise, rewards, grade bonuses, and appreciation marks, are able to significantly increase students' learning motivation. This study concludes that giving rewards is an effective strategy to increase student learning motivation, especially in PAI learning at SMPN 13 Malang.
