PERAN MASJID SEKOLAH SEBAGAI MEDIA PENANAMAN KARAKTER RELIGIUS PESERTA DIDIK DI SMK TERPADU AL ISHLAHIYAH
Abstract
This research is motivated by the fact that, although there is much literature discussing the importance of instilling religious character in students, there is little empirical research evaluating the concrete role of school mosques in this process, especially in the school environment. Many schools have mosques or prayer rooms, but the role of these mosques in religious activities and character development is often suboptimal or poorly documented. This research seeks to document and analyze various religious activities at Masjid Langgar Genteng and their impact on students' character. Based on the research background, the researcher formulated the following problems: 1) What is the character of the students; 2) What programs are implemented to support the instillation of religious character; and 3) What is the role of the mosque in instilling religious character through the school mosque program at SMK Terpadu Al Ishlahiyah. This research is a qualitative study adopting a case study approach, conducted at SMK Terpadu Al Ishlahiyah. Data collection was carried out through several methods, including observation to observe, interviews to obtain verbal information from sources, and documentation to seek data relevant to the research. These methods were chosen to gain an in-depth understanding of the research focus. The results obtained are: the character of the students at SMK Terpadu Al Ishlahiyah is formed through habituation practices applied both daily and during specific activities; the mosque programs that support the instillation of religious character in students can be seen through various religious activities carried out in daily habituation and also activities conducted on specific dates or days with the same purpose, such as reading Asmaul Husna, praying, and dhikr together, Dhuha and Dzuhur prayers in congregation, celebrations of Islamic holidays and Ramadan retreats, women's studies, istighotsah, and tahlil; the role of the school mosque is evident from its use as a facility to support religious activities aimed at instilling religious character in students, utilized for various activities such as a place of worship, religious education, religious activities, and self-development facilities.
