PEMBENTUKAN KARAKTER SOSIAL MELALUI KEGIATAN EKSTRAKULIKULER BADAN DAKWAH ISLAM (BDI) DI SMP NEGERI 25 MALANG

Abstract

Social character building is an important thing in preparing a superior generation and being able to survive in the era of globalization. Extracurricular Islamic Da'wah Agency (BDI) is beneficial for students who follow to get a positive impact, one of which is in the field of social character. With the existence of BDI supervised by Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers and assisted by student affairs and school principals, it will help students have a positive impact through the cultivation of Islamic education social character instilled through BDI activities. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the formation of social character applied at SMPN 25 Malang. The research objectives, namely to describe the planning and formation of extracurricular Islamic Da'wah Agency (BDI) in shaping the social character of students at SMPN 25 Malang. Then to explain the driving and inhibiting factors for the formation of students' social character through the extracurricular program of the Islamic Da'wah Agency (BDI) at SMPN 25 Malang. This research uses a qualitative approach descriptive research type. Data collection techniques using interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis techniques use data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the researchers obtained are: First, the planning of social character building through extracurricular activities of the Islamic Da'wah Agency (BDI) at SMPN 25 Malang consists of making a religious activity program. The planned activity program includes preparing Dzuhur prayer activities in congregation at the mosque, and collecting SERUMEGA. Second, the implementation of social character building at SMPN 25 Malang has succeeded in making students more caring, tolerant, confident, and communicative. Third, the driving factor, consisting of high motivation from the supervisors and students of the Islamic Da'wah Agency (BDI) management, supported by the assistance of the principal of SMPN 25 Malang. Adequate facilities and infrastructure cover various aspects. Inhibiting factors such as time, environment, and the nature of students can be seen from the academic load, where the lack of time from each student in dividing hours between extracurricular activities and study time to face school exams.
