STRATEGI KEPALA SEKOLAH DALAM MENINGKATKAN KEDISIPLINAN SISWA DI SEKOLAH MENENGAH PERTAMA ISLAM SABILURROSYAD MALANG

Abstract


This study aims to describe the condition of student discipline in Sabilurrosyad Islamic Middle School Malang and how the school principal improves student discipline, as well as the supporting and inhibiting factors of the principal's strategy in improving student discipline. This research uses qualitative methods.. Data collections techniques were through observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques in this study used data reduction, data presentation, verification. The results of the study show that: (1) The condition of student discipline at Sabilurrosyad Islamic Middle School Malang is quite good, but efforts still need to be made to improve it because students still commit disciplinary acts even though it is only a minor violation. (2) the strategy used by the principal of SMP Islam Sabilurrosyad Malang in improving student discipline is quite good and varied, namely the existence of clear rules of conduct, setting a good example for student, providing coaching, providing socialization to students and parents about the program discipline and code of conduct and provide sanction and reward. (3) Factors supporting the principal's strategy in increasing student discipline include: coaching and closeness between students and teachers, there are established rules, there is good cooperation and communication between teachers and students. In addition to the supporting factors, there are also inhibiting factors the first is that they are in a boarding school environment and far from parental supervision, the second is the lack of awareness of students about responsibility for themselves.
