ANALISA GENDER PADA ILUSTRASI TEKS DAN GAMBAR PADA BUKU PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM DAN BUDI PEKERTI KELAS XI KURIKULUM 2013 TINGKAT SMA

Abstract


Islamic Religious Education and Character Education are part of the 2013 curriculum which is taught in formal education. In the Regulation of the Minister of Education and Culture of Indonesia Number 8 of 2016 concerning books used by education units in Article 2 Paragraph 2 which reads “Books that should be used for each education unit as referred to in paragraph (1) must comply with positive values or norms and apply in the surrounding community, which must not contain elements of pornography, extremism, radicalism, violence, SARA, gender bias, and does not contain any other deviation values.” This study aims to classify whether the book is gender-equitable, gender-neutral, or gender-biased and to find out whether or not student handbooks are appropriate as a reference in gender-equal learning. This research is an analysis of Islamic Religious Education and Character Education books for class XI SMA Curriculum 2013. This type of research is library research with a qualitative approach with a gender perspective. Data were taken from library sources as primary data in the form of books on Islamic Religious Education and Characteristics of Class XI SMA and secondary data in the form of articles from scientific journals and related books. This study uses content analysis techniques (content analysis). The results of the study show that the Islamic Religious Education Book and Characteristics Class XI Curriculum 2013 has used animation or images that are quite balanced between the roles of men and women as evidenced by the number of images that are gender-equal and gender-neutral, which are more than those that are gender biased. And the taking of stories or stories from two genders that are equal is more than sentences that are gender biased.
