KONTRUKSI PEMIKIRAN KH. SALAHUDDIN WAHID TENTANG PENDIDIKAN PESANTREN
Abstract
Islamic education is a planned effort carried out by an educator towards students with the aim of developing physically and spiritually so that a sincere Muslim person is formed, so that one day it can benefit himself and those around him. One figure who is quite phenomenal in this regard is KH. Salahuddin Wahid. In relation to Islamic education or pesantren, at first his ideas became widely known when he replaced the leadership of the Tebuireng pesantren. Gus Solah's leadership is rational-managerial, this is in line with his background as an engineer. That way, the purpose of this study can be divided into the first two parts, to describe KH. Salahuddin Wahid about pesantren education. Second, to describe how KH. Salahuddin Wahid in modernizing pesantren education.
This research is a type of qualitative research with the aim of describing and analyzing phenomena, events, social activities, attitudes, beliefs, perceptions and thoughts of people and groups. The description used in this research is a character study by describing the thoughts of KH. Salahuddin Wahid about pesantren education. The primary data used in this study refers to the work of KH. Salahuddin Wahid entitled Transformation of the Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School. While the secondary data are books, articles, magazines, websites and so on. As for the data analysis, the researcher analyzes the material or content contained in the primary data.
The research results from the analysis conducted by researchers found that there are five weaknesses in Islamic boarding schools education. First, the quality of Islamic boarding schools. Second, the problem of moral education from graduates of educational institutions in Indonesia, including Islamic boarding schools. Third, the problem of religious thought. Fourth, scientific problems. Fifth, the transformation of the independence attitude of Islamic boarding schools in the past into an entrepreneurial attitude that is ready to answer the challenges of the times in the future. As for how KH. Salahuddin Wahid in modernizing Islamic boarding school education can be seen from his leadership pattern, namely rational-managerial, namely integrating all ranks both internally and externally. There are three main factors in modernizing pesantren, including awareness, developing togetherness, and building systems
