Abstract

Multicultural means difference, the difference in question is someone's difference about cultural, religious diversity or differences in elements of other cultural values. Multicultural actually began to emerge around the 1970s. This Multicultural Understanding first appeared in Canada then the United States and then England to Australia, This multiculturalism in Canada arises when there is a conflict between citizens, the problem is through the relationship between ethnicity, race, and religion as well as political sects that do not agree. Novels present fictional stories in written form or words in which there are intrinsic and extrinsic elements. In the novel the author tries hard so that the reader can understand the pictures of the real story written in the novel. Novels are a form of literary work that can also have a dual function, besides being able to entertain, novels can also be a means to convey the truth, about good and bad, there are clear messages conveyed and some are subtle, but in general the novel is used as an educational medium, it depends on the content of the novel, both from the knowledge in it and the contents of the experience.
