Learning can run well if in the learning process the teacher can involve students in an effort to understand the material being taught as well as possible. With the active involvement of students, students will have many opportunities to understand and remember the material being taught. Of course this will provide a significant change to the learning motivation of students. Solutions to make students more motivated in the learning process include applying the Discovery learning model. This study focused on the steps of implementing the Discovery learning learning model in SMA Negeri 4 Malang, the effectiveness of the implementation of the Discovery learning learning model in increasing students' learning motivation, and the obstacles experienced by teachers when implementing the model. This research uses a qualitative approach with the type of case study research. This researcher is a field research. The results of the implementation of the Discovery learning learning model in Islamic Religious Education learning at SMA Negeri 4 Malang are the most prominent, namely students become more active and creative in the learning process. That means the implementation of the Discovery learning learning model is very effective in increasing student motivation at SMA Negeri 4 Malang.
