Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has had a huge impact in all areas, particularly: economic, political and socio-cultural. Including the field of education at all levels that also undergo a very large change. At the college level for example, it must maintain the quality of its graduates who are competent and qualified in their field of expertise. Therefore, for a prospective teacher Madrasah Ibtidaiyyah (MI) is required to have good skills and mastery in teaching Arabic language materials, both online and offline. This article aims to describe how to train the competence of MI teachers in teaching Arabic in the current pandemic situation, in order to achieve the learning objectives as expected. The method used in this research is descriptive-qualitative, The data collected was generated from online observation and survey instrumens. While the object studied were studentsÂ 2020 at the Madrasah Ibtidaiyyah Teacher Education Program, Faculty of Islamic Religion, Islamic University of Malang. The results of this study show that exercise can encourage prospective teachers to understand Arabic material well, learn to prepare materials and practice using learning applications, both online and offline, so that it is not confusing and boring. The drawback is that it is not yet accustomed to teaching materials.
