ANALISIS PERMINTAAN DAGING SAPI SEBAGAI SUMBER PROTEIN DI JAWA TIMUR
Abstract
This study aims to analyze the factors influencing beef demand as a source of protein in East Java. The data used were derived from the March 2023 National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas), covering a sample of 32,544 households. The analytical method applied was multiple linear regression using SPSS software. Independent variables included beef price, price of chicken, price of eggs, price of fish, price of tofu, price of tempeh, price of flour, price of rice, household income, and number of household members. The results revealed that all independent variables significantly influence beef demand simultaneously (F-test, Sig. 0.000 < 0.05). Partially, only fish and tofu prices were found to be statistically insignificant. Interestingly, beef price showed a positive influence on demand, indicating inelastic consumption behavior among high-income households. Income and household size were also found to be major determinants of beef consumption levels.
