Kontribusi Budidaya Melon terhadap Pendapatan Keluarga Petani Studi Kasus: di Desa Klotok Kecamatan Plumpang Kabupaten Tuban

Abstract

          The horticulture sector plays an important role in increasing farmers' income, one of which is through melon cultivation. This study aims to analyse the contribution of melon cultivation to farmers' household income and the socio-economic factors that influence melon farmers' income in Klotok Village, Plumpang Sub-district, Tuban District. The study employs a quantitative case study method with a sample of 38 farmers selected from a population of 60 farmers using the Slovin formula. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and questionnaires. Data analysis was conducted by calculating net income, income contribution, R/C ratio, and multiple linear regression. The results showed that the average net income was Rp 41,039,474 per growing season, contributing 59.99% to family income, with an R/C ratio of 3.00, indicating that melon cultivation is economically viable. Regression results indicate that working capital has a significant positive effect on melon farmers' income. Meanwhile, land area, farming experience, and family labour have positive but insignificant effects, while market access shows a negative but also insignificant effect. These findings underscore the importance of capital and land optimisation in increasing melon farmers' income.
