Abstract

In 2020, farmers used Ciherang variety seeds, but since 2024, many farmers have switched seeds to use the Inpari 32 HDB variety, because the production results obtained by farmers from Inpari 32 HDB variety seeds are greater than Ciherang variety seeds. The aim of this research is to analyze the factors that influence the switch from the Ciherang variety to the Inpari 32 HDB variety. This research was carried out from December 2024 to March 2025 in Sutojayan Village, Pakisaji District, Malang Regency. The sample in this study were farmers who planted seeds of the Ciherang variety and seeds of the Inpari 32 HDB variety, totaling 58 respondents. To achieve the research objectives, an analysis was carried out using the logistic regression method with SPSS version 25 software. Based on the analysis results, it is known that the variables of age (X1), land area (X3), farming costs (X4), income (X5), production results (X6), and number of family dependents (X8) have a significant effect on farmers' decisions (Y). While the variables of education (X2) and farming experience (X7) do not have a significant effect on farmers' decisions (Y) in switching varieties.
