Abstract

Abstract

Coffee farmers in Indonesia face various challenges, including low productivity and lack of skills. Many smallholder farmers in the country often find it difficult to increase yields, due to a lack of knowledge and skills needed to improve their farming practices. The objective in this study was to analyze the factors that influence coffee production. This research was conducted from December 2024 to January 2025 in Ketindan Village, Lawang District, Malang Regency. The selection of the research location was done purposively. The number of samples used was 57 respondents. Based on the results of the factor analysis, the factors that influence coffee production in Ketindan Village include tree count (X1), manure (X2), NPK fertilizer (X4), labor (X5), pesticides (X6), farming experience (Z1), land area (Z2), and farmer group participation (D3). Meanwhile, the factors of ZA fertilizer (X3), age (D1), and education (D2) had no effect on coffee production. Farmers are expected to carry out pest management, among others, by applying natural cover crop (arachis pintoi) from PBKO pests and weeds. For further researchers, can add other variables that have not been studied such as plant age and coffee type.
