Abstract

ABSTRACT

Farmers have a strategic role in national food security, inequality in farmers' purchasing power can have implications for the sustainability of food production, distribution of agricultural products, and rural socio-economic stability. Various challenges such as commodity price fluctuations, climate change and global economic policies have affected farmers' income. On the other hand, increasing production costs, such as fertilizers, pesticides and agricultural equipment, also put pressure on their welfare. Through analysis of NTP developments, the government and stakeholders can monitor farmers' economic conditions more accurately. This research aims to analyze descriptively quantitatively how the NTP for rice has developed for the period 2018 - 2023. The research method used is analysis of rice farmers' exchange rate trends, the data used is secondary data in the form of monthly NTP times series data from January 2018 to December 2023 obtained from the Central Statistics Agency. Based on the results of the analysis, the Rice Farmer Exchange Rate (NTPP) has increased by 5.43%, which shows that the development of the rice farmer exchange rate tends to increase, meaning that rice farmers in general in Indonesia have seen their agricultural commodity selling power increase by 5.43%. The coefficient of determination trend line shows that around 5.85% of the development of farmer exchange rates can be explained by the model or independent variables used in the analysis.zero
