Abstract

This study aims to determine the amount of income received by farmers from melon farming in Wates District, Blitar Regency, and to determine the achievement of technical efficiency in melon farming in Wates District, Blitar Regency. The selection of the research location was carried out intentionally (Purposive). The sampling method used in this study was the random sampling method with a population of 300 and a sample of 40 melon farmers in Wates District, Blitar Regency. The data analysis method was carried out through quantitative descriptive. The results of the study on income for melon farmers in Wates District, Blitar Regency obtained an income of Rp. 64,338,082 with a selling price of Rp. 12,125 per kg with a harvest of 5,332.92 kg. based on the analysis of farming that has been carried out, melon farmers in Wates District, Blitar Regency obtained an R/C ratio of 1.5 with a comparison of income of Rp. 64,338,082 with a total cost of melon farming of Rp. 42,664,237, then a profit of Rp. 21,673,845. The results of the DEA analysis obtained an average technical efficiency of 0.946, with the lowest value of 0.627 and the highest value of 1. In contrast to the results of calculations using constant return to scale, an average value of 0.782 was obtained, with the lowest value of 0.508 and the highest value of 1. So it is known that the DMUs that are CRS are 8 with a percentage of 20 percent. While the DMUs that are IRS are 29 with a percentage of 73 percent, and the DMUs that are on the DRS are 3 DMUs with a percentage of 8 percent..
