Abstract

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the efficiency of shallot farming in Karangploso District, Malang Regency and to determine the factors that influence the profits of shallot farming in Karangploso District, Malang Regency. The research was conducted in June - November 2023. The number of shallot farmers in Karangploso District, Malang Regency was 183 farmers, based on the sampling method according to (Surachmat, 1998) the study determined 16.5% of the farmer population in Karangploso District, Malang Regency by taking simple random sampling or simple random sampling, namely the total number of samples in this study was 30 farmers. The analysis of farming efficiency was carried out by analyzing the R / C Ratio using Microsoft Excel software. Using multiple linear regression analysis to determine the factors that affect the profit of shallot farming using SPSS software version 26. Based on the results of the research that has been conducted and described in the previous chapter, the following research conclusions can be drawn:

1. 1.   The R/C ratio value obtained is 3.0, which indicates > 1. So the shallot farming in Karangploso District, Malang Regency is efficient and profitable.
2. 2.   The results of the multiple linear regression analysis show that all factors that have a positive effect on the profit of shallot farming are ZA Fertilizer (X5) and KCL Fertilizer (X6). While the factors that have a negative effect on the profit of shallot farming are land area (X1), seeds (X2), and labor (X8). In addition, factors that do not have a significant effect on the profit of shallot farming are Urea Fertilizer (X3), TSP Fertilizer (X4), and Pesticides (X7)
