Abstract

Babadan Village has agricultural land with diverse commodities. This diversity is influenced by land type, technology, and climatic conditions. However, there is a phenomenon of decreasing agricultural land area in Babadan Village that affects paddy production and yields become less stable. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that influence the decision of rice farmers to switch to mustard vegetable commodities and to determine the difference in income of paddy farmers after switching to mustard vegetable commodities in Babadan Village, Wlingi District, Blitar Regency. The research was conducted in Babadan Village, Wlingi District, Blitar Regency. The data analysis method used was logistic regression analysis and t-test. The results showed that the results of logistic regression analysis showed that there were 3 variables that significantly influenced the decision of paddy farmers to switch to mustard vegetable commodities, namely the variable of land area (X3) with a value of 0.045; income (X4) with a value of 0.033; and capital (X5) with a value of 0.034. While the results of the t-test analysis to determine the difference in income received by farmers, both paddy farmers and mustard farmers, obtained a Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.013. The number 0.013 < 0.05 so it can be said that there is a difference between paddy farming income and mustard farming.
