MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN MATEMATIKA BERBASIS WORDWALL DAN PENGARUHNYA TERHADAP MINAT BELAJAR SISWA SEKOLAH DASAR

Abstract


This study investigates the effect of Wordwall-based mathematics learning media on the learning interest of first grade students at SD Brawijaya Smart School and compares its effectiveness with number card media. The study was conducted based on the low interest of students in mathematics learning, which was characterized by passive participation, low enthusiasm, and students’ perception that mathematics is difficult and uninteresting. Previous studies have generally examined the effectiveness of Wordwall or number cards separately, while comparative studies between digital interactive media and concrete media in elementary mathematics learning are still limited. This research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group design. The participants consisted of 54 first grade students divided into an experimental class using Wordwall and a control class using number cards. Data were collected through learning interest questionnaires, observation, and documentation, then analyzed using the Mann-Whitney U test. The findings revealed a significant difference in students’ learning interest between the two groups, with a significance value of 0.009 < 0.05. Wordwall media was found to be more effective in increasing students’ interest in mathematics learning due to its interactive, game-based, and engaging learning activities.
