STRATEGI KEPALA MADRASAH DALAM PENGUATAN KARAKTER RELIGIUS MELALUI PROGRAM MADRASAH DINIYAH AKHLAKUL BANIN DI MADRASAH IBTIDAIYAH
Abstract
This study explores the principal’s strategy in strengthening students’ religious character through the Madrasah Diniyah Akhlakul Banin program at MI Al-Fattah Malang City. The research was motivated by the growing moral challenges faced by students in the digital era, which demand schools to reinforce spiritual and moral education. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving the principal, teachers, and students. The analysis employed Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, including data condensation, display, and conclusion drawing, while data credibility was ensured through triangulation techniques. The findings reveal that the principal implemented strategic and participatory planning involving teachers with a pesantren background to design a religious education program based on the classical text Al-Akhlaqul Lil Banin. The program integrates moral teachings with daily religious practices such as shalat dhuha, Asmaul Husna recitation, and charity activities. These activities foster discipline, politeness, and a strong sense of spirituality among students. The principal’s leadership proved effective in creating a religious culture, coordinating stakeholders, and maintaining the sustainability of the program. Overall, this study concludes that the principal’s strategy through Madrasah Diniyah Akhlakul Banin significantly contributes to shaping students’ religious and moral character in Islamic elementary education.
