PENERAPAN ART-BASED LEARNING MELALUI PROYEK PETA BUDAYA INDONESIA UNTUK MENINGKATKAN MINAT BELAJAR SISWA DALAM PELAJARAN IPAS

Abstract


This research explores the use of Art-Based Learning through a cultural map project as a response to the low interest of fifth-grade students at MI Sunan Ampel in science and social studies (IPAS). Within the framework of classroom action research, the study examines how integrating art into learning activities can foster greater engagement and motivation. Data collection involved observation, student questionnaires, and teacher interviews conducted over two cycles. The intervention required students to collaboratively design an Indonesian cultural map, combining artistic expression with subject content. Results revealed a notable improvement in students’ attention, participation, and enthusiasm, along with the development of creativity, teamwork, and cultural awareness. These outcomes highlight the effectiveness of art-based, project-oriented learning in enhancing both interest and meaningful learning experiences. The study contributes to educational practice by emphasizing the potential of Art-Based Learning as a pedagogical strategy to address motivational challenges in classroom instruction.
